'Every so often, a teacher comes along who just 'gets' your child. And that is exactly how it was when Claire worked with my son. Having spoken to friends who have also worked with Claire, I know we are not alone. She just has that special knack of knowing what a child needs and for building their confidence up so much that they believe they are capable of reaching their full potential' - R.D, Year 4 parent.
Welcome
I'm Claire, primary teacher and private tutor
I'm so glad you found me! With over twelve years in education, I can say hand on heart that I LOVE what I do. My career so far has seen me through mainstream classrooms in KS2 and in specialist settings supporting children with additional needs. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of how children learn and I pride myself on ensuring every child I work with is given their own individual, tailor-made education. I believe the most powerful thing we can do as adults is to help children to believe in themselves. Once that self belief is in place, confidence grows and the learning follows naturally. Over the past three years, I have been working as a private tutor, which has been incredibly rewarding. Supporting children one-to-one and watching their confidence blossom is a true privilege. So, whether your child needs some extra time together to catch up, encouragement to reach further, or just needs that little bit of a confidence boost to shine like the star you already know they are, I am here to help.

"Claire was an incredible help to us in improving our daughters capability and confidence in Maths during year 6. She met with Claire weekly, and Claire worked on topics she was unsure about, and spent more time covering topics that they had only spent a little time on in school. My daughter was working at below expected SATs standard in September and by the end of the year she achieved Greater Depths standard- amazing progress! She is now going to secondary school confident that she can ‘do’ Maths." - K.M, Year 6 parent.
"When my son was at his lowest, you appeared. I will never be able to express how grateful I am. My little boy who hated school and felt he had no teacher who was his 'safe space', found it in you and all of a sudden, the learning just came." - J.C, Year 6 parent.
"My child loved Claire's gentle, adaptable way of teaching. She has come so far this year, but the thing that shows most, is how much more confidence she now has in herself. You can't put a price on that!" - M.Y, Year 3 parent.
